Capacity Overflow Snapping · also called the full-container snap
why do I explode over tiny things
Capacity overflow snapping is losing your temper at something minor — a dropped spoon, a slow driver, a bad joke — not because it deserved anger, but because your tolerance was already at its limit with nowhere left to put the load. It reads as an anger problem when it is really a container that was already full.
The spoon didn’t do that. Everything you swallowed before the spoon did.
What to do about it
When you snap at something small, ask what you were already carrying beforehand instead of what you were reacting to.

How people say it
Nobody looks this up by its clinical name. These are the ways it actually gets said.
- why do I explode over tiny things
- I snapped at my kid over nothing and feel awful
- small annoyances make me disproportionately angry
- is this an anger problem or something else
- I have a short fuse lately and don’t know why
- why do I overreact to things that don’t matter
- I lash out and regret it within minutes
- my patience runs out way before the day does
