A zombie subscription is any recurring payment or standing commitment that stopped delivering value months ago but keeps auto-renewing because canceling it means admitting the plan behind it is dead. It costs more than the monthly charge — it is a small, dormant reminder of an abandoned intention, still running quietly through your bank statement and your attention.
The charge is not twelve dollars. It is a monthly invoice for a version of you that quit and never told your bank account.
