Manufactured urgency is deliberately creating a real cost for inaction when your circumstances do not naturally impose one: a public deadline, a financial penalty, a witness who will ask. People whose survival is already on the line rarely need this, because a missed rent payment or a required check-in supplies the urgency for free. Everyone else has to build the consequence by hand or coast indefinitely on a deadline that only whispers.
Nobody sends you a consequence for coasting. If your life will not hand you one, you have to build it yourself, before you need it, not after.

Attach one real, uncomfortable cost to your own deadline this week, tell someone, pay someone, or post it publicly, before you need the pressure.
